Dusty Lamps EP
Dusty Lamps are a loosely connected band consisting of Megan Tait (MasterSystem), Konnsky (ill Papa Giraffe) and Blasfima Sinna (You Sonix Records). The band members get together and create material whenever it's possible to find time as they are all busy working on other projects and solo material. DJ U-Turn performed the Scratching on track 3 ''Trouble''. The music Dusty Lamps create is a smooth blend of Hip Hop styles with Soul with a Caledonian twist. Guest producer PhonoGraph is responsible for the Scratching and production on the 4th tack on this EP ''Crack Den''

TRI POLAR by Bang Dirty [Free Download]
Tripolar sees Stuart Jackson, Adam Holmes and MOG reunite as Bang Dirty. The folk/rap/electronic formula will be familiar to fans of their debut effort, Everyone Out. That album attained cult status, a trickle of downloads giving rise to a steady flow of domestic and international purchases, fuelled by word of mouth, a handful of gigs and the lure of lead track Break Up, which was accompanied by a well-received video.
For the band's follow-up, Tripolar retains the lush instrumentation and gritty lyrics, while cranking production up a notch, the lowest depths and highest highs set against a backdrop of haunting piano, ebullient strings and shimmering guitar.
'She' is part poetry, part love letter while 'Enigma' is downright nasty. Everyone Out featured four guest spots; this time around, only Gasp appears, the Glasgow rapper nailing a 16 onto the assured 'So Many Mics'. Instead, vocal duties are left to MOG who is on top form as he ponders lives lost, time passed and hands won. With Adam Holmes weighing in with saccharine hooks and bitter-sweet choruses, the album switches effortlessly from dark street to smoky bar; sunny scheme to choppy sea.
During the course of ten tracks, listeners are taken on a ferris feel of emotions and a rollercoaster of sonic palettes; Tripolar is melancholy, angry and elated in equal measure. An apt name for an eagerly-anticipated sequel.

Who is Han CMC?
Han CMC:
Han CMC is an experimental Edinburgh hip-hop artist,
previously releasing material with Perfect Practice and Blasfima Sinna before
settling in the SOS camp. His first songs created a comedy / fun element to
rap, but deep metaphor and wordplay always showed he had the skills for much
more. His clever and socially aware raps where shown more in his debut release ‘Mental
Shadows’, which also contains a lot of questionable content and debatable theories.
Han CMC returned in September 2013 with his second official
release. He also features heavily on underground material not seen online, with
a music collection is somewhat a mystery to those that don’t know him
personally. However, two solid releases on Sons of Scotland have shown the true
level of this talented, yet unexplainable character. Perhaps you saw him
supporting Action Bronson in Glasgow, or hanging back / side stage with Ghostface
Killah in Edinburgh. One things for sure, Han CMC shows no fear on the mic, nor
cares for negative feedback. Keep it positive, keep it Iron Fist.

Plane Aggy - Snakes&Ladders
Snakes and Ladders is the most personnel material that Plane Aggy has ever recorded.
Describing the Highs and Lows of life through play on words, he is done
with fucking around with casua beats and trying to put down witty bars.
Snakes & Ladders is the gritty truth about what has gone down along his journey in the "Music Game"

*** HIP-HOP NEWS EXCLUSIVE *** DEEKO calls out DRAKE, calls him the new JA RULE.
The hip-hop world was shook to its over-opinionated core last night as news broke of local Edinburgh rapper DEEKO having a very suitable opinion on rap / pop music superstar DRAKE.
The day was 3rd April, the location was the main SOS
Headquarters (aka Werd’s flat) and what happened has since had the gossip sites
blowing up; TMZ on the phone, and Perez Hilton falling off his or her chair. As
if today was’nt going to be an exciting day already, with it being the birthday
of the mythical Han CMC! (Sorry James Franco he’s well over 18), we have
this EXCLUSIVE REPORT.
After recording Californian rapper Count 4DB, plus writing
new lyrics for feature tracks for the upcoming SOS collaboration release (expected
to drop in May 2014 on free download), the Sons of Scotland friends sat down to
relax, have a beer and smoke. A discussion then took place. Speaking of current
hip-hop, previous hip-hop, and hip-hop, the topic then moved to hip-hop. Since
nothing really has happened in hip-hop worth a mention, we won’t mention it
here, however we do have an EXCLUSIVE interview with Werd aka Drew Devine to summarise
the night’s events:
‘To be honest it was a very poor game, I know we shouldn’t
be expecting the most attacking play from French and Italian league teams,
but f**king hell it was dire… I like Lyon and Juventus, both very well known and
popular teams, so I was looking forward to it beforehand. However, it was only towards
the end after Bonucci’s 85th min goal that had anything worth
watching, not a great advert for football at all.’
